(July 6, 2005 - Los Angeles) - The creators of the comic series Blokhedz returns to Comic-Con in San Diego, July 13 - 17, 2005, with their latest chapter to the Blokhedz saga. Introducing new characters and providing answers to the previous volumes, Blokhedz: A New Beginning (Chapter 4) is a must read for comic enthusiasts. This collector's edition will keep fans on the edge of their seats as they navigate through the gritty urban streets of Empire City and learn if rhyme-spitting hero Blak resolves his inner demons. The culmination of the first four-part mini series, this 32pg full color comic includes a special pull-out poster.
"Comic-Con is the best way to showcase a property like Blokhedz to the general public and comic industry aficionados," said Michael Schultz (famed Director - Cooley High, Ally Mcbeal, Car Wash, and company chairman). "The energy at the event is intoxicating and helps us to gain a true perspective of the magnitude and legitimacy our brand of comics brings to this audience," he continued. Brandon Schultz, Blokhedz writer/producer added "Last year, the response at our booth was crazy."
In the past, Street Legends Ink, the publishers of the Blokhedz series, have introduced their line of urban designer toys and the previous Blokhedz' comics series at Comic-Con. Along with book 4 Blokhedz co-creators/artists Mark and Mike Davis (a.k.a. Madtwiinz) bring new flavor to Comic-Con with the premiere of the Limited Edition "Young Blak with Scar" designer toy. Drawing audiences as far as away as Japan and Australia, Blokhedz publisher Street Legends Ink has carved a niche in the comic industry for the hip-hop generation. This underground phenomenon is now bubbling to the surface, as the series and figures have consistently sold out in comic superstores in New York City, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Boston.
Adding to their success, the creators of Blokhedz plan to ink a deal with International Enterprise to distribute the acclaimed series internationally. "There's really no other book like Blokhedz out right now," comments International Rights Manager Tim Hegarty on their signing. "The Street Legends team are some of the most talented young creators in the business, and their talents show in the unique blend of hip-hop and supernatural action only found in Blokhedz."
Blokhedz: A New Beginning debuts at Comic-Con, in San Diego, July 2005. The Blokhedz comic series and toys are produced by Street Legends Ink (SLI) a wholly owned subsidiary of ImajiMation Studios.
