September 9, 2005 (SEATTLE) - WizKids Inc., creator of the runaway hit game MechWarrior®: Age of Destruction, is proud to announce that Mike Donovan of Madison, Ohio, defeated all opponents to become the 2005 MechWarrior: Age of Destruction Unrestricted world champion!
Held at Dragon*Con in Atlanta, the MechWarrior Unrestricted World Championship brought dozens of players from several countries together for two days of competition and fun. Donovan previously won the United States National Championship in Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Donovan was offered a trophy painted in the colors of the faction of his choice: Clan Sea Fox. In the MechWarrior Unrestricted tournament format, players can play with any MechWarrior game pieces in a variety of different formats and scenarios.
The Fellowship prize, a special award for sporting play, went to Victor Basinger from Strawberry Plains, Tennessee.
