PLAYMOBIL's Exciting 2006 Themes Find a Home in Children's Imaginations

NEW YORK, Feb. 9, 2006 -- What do Captain Blackbeard, the U.S. soccer team, Prince Charming and a beach rescue crew have in common? All make their U.S. debut this week at the International Toy Fair as PLAYMOBIL unveils its 2006 product themes -- a versatile catalog of realistic playscapes that encourages children's unlimited use of creativity and independent thought through pretend play.

Featuring themes of Soccer, Pirates, Magic Castle, Farm, Family Vacation, Knights, Harbor and Garden Center, the new playscapes combine real-life and fantasy characters with children's favorite settings. This year, kids will especially be thrilled with the Pirate and Knights themes -- traditional PLAYMOBIL favorites updated with fun details and gadgets -- and the Soccer sets that bring a favorite sport to life. Following on the success and popularity of 2005's My Take-Along series, the new My Take-Along Farm is also expected to be a hit.

Soccer Match

By flicking a lever, players can control how figurines aim and kick the ball, whether shooting for a goal or passing to a teammate. A rotating knob also allows players to help the goalie block shots, even diving left and right. The scoreboard features a timer and changeable scores.
