MGA ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE LITTLE TIKES TOY COMPANY
LOS ANGELES - September 11, 2006 - MGA Entertainment, Inc. announced today that it has entered into an agreement to purchase the Little Tikes business unit from Newell Rubbermaid Inc. (NYSE:NWL). Little Tikes is well known as a global marketer and manufacturer of quality children's toys, furniture and related items for consumers.
"Little Tikes is an evergreen brand that people from every generation are familiar with. The brand fits into our portfolio and business plan nicely, and we plan to take Little Tikes to new heights with new product innovations and expert marketing," said MGA Entertainment CEO Isaac Larian.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter 2006, subject to, among other things, completion of all required regulatory approvals, including consultation proceedings with works councils, trade unions and employee representatives in certain affected European countries.
