Halloween Pumpkin Decoration Kits Sold at Target Stores Recalled by Paper Magic Group Due to Choking Hazard
October 24, 2006 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Mr. Potato Head "Make a Monster Pumpkin" and Mr. Potato Head "Make a Fireman Pumpkin" and Mrs. Potato Head "Make a Diva Pumpkin"
Units: About 97,000
Manufacturer: Paper Magic Group Inc., of Scranton, Pa.
Hazard: The pumpkin decoration kits contain small parts that pose a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled kits include plastic ears, eyes, noses, mouth, hands, shoes, hats, eyeglasses and jewelry that are used to decorate Halloween pumpkins. The recall includes Mr. Potato Head "Make a Monster Pumpkin" and "Make a Fireman Pumpkin" and Mrs. Potato Head "Make a Diva Pumpkin." The products are labeled for ages 2 and older. Products with small parts intended for children under 3 years old are prohibited due to a choking hazard.
Sold exclusively at: Target Stores nationwide from September through October 2006 for about $5.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these pumpkin decorating kits immediately and return them to the nearest Target store for a full refund.
