JAKKS Pacific Secures Worldwide, Master Toy Agreement for the Smurfs Franchise

JAKKS to Produce 'Smurf-Tastic' Toys Based on 2016 Feature Film

MALIBU, Calif. -- March 02, 2015 -- Leading U.S. toymaker JAKKS Pacific, Inc. announced today that it has secured a licensing agreement with LAFIG and Sony Pictures Consumer Products to produce toys and related products based on the Smurfs franchise including the classic Smurfs brand and the upcoming Smurfs feature film premiering in August 2016. The worldwide, master toy agreement includes rights to produce figures, playsets, plush and more.

LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales, An All-New Series of Event Specials, Acquired by Disney XD

ENFIELD, Conn., Feb. 27, 2015 -- The LEGO Group, world renowned manufacturer of construction toys, today announced that Disney XD has acquired LEGO® Star Wars™: Droid Tales for airing later this year. The animated content series consists of five 22-minute episodes that re-tell the Star Wars saga in chronological order from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace up through Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Disney XD is also currently home to the animated hit series Star Wars Rebels.

February 2015 - Fans of 6-inch action figures should head over to Kickstarter to check out the new campaign by Play With This Too. They have launched a campaign to create a series of action figures called Lost Protectors. The figures have interchangeable parts (via ball joint connectors) and plenty of accessories.

February 2015 - This coming Saturday, February 28th and Sunday, March 1st, Four Horsemen Toy Design will be making an appearance at the Long Beach Comic Expo in Long Beach, CA.

Besides having their own panel at 4pm on Sunday, they'll be at the KRCO booth (#504) all weekend showing off some of the incredible work that they're currently doing, including some new Mythic Legions prototypes that have never been seen in person outside their studios!
