March 2015 - Are you ready for HOTCON 2015? It's just around the corner and will be back in Waco, TX on March 20-22 at the Exhibits Hall & Creative Arts Building of the Extraco Events Center. Filled with fun for the entire family, HOTCON 2015 will have everything from your favorite celebrity guests, to cosplayers, to vehicles from popular TV shows, comic book artists with credits from Marvel, DC, Warner Bros, Disney, Hanna-Barbera and more. Come meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Jack Skellington from the Nightmare Before Christmas. Wear your favorite costume to the show and enter our cosplay contest, get your picture with the Impala from Supernatural, or get a crazy amount of loot from the artists and vendors. There's so much to do it will take the entire weekend to pack it all in your schedule.

JAKKS Pacific Secures Worldwide, Master Toy Agreement for the Smurfs Franchise

JAKKS to Produce 'Smurf-Tastic' Toys Based on 2016 Feature Film

MALIBU, Calif. -- March 02, 2015 -- Leading U.S. toymaker JAKKS Pacific, Inc. announced today that it has secured a licensing agreement with LAFIG and Sony Pictures Consumer Products to produce toys and related products based on the Smurfs franchise including the classic Smurfs brand and the upcoming Smurfs feature film premiering in August 2016. The worldwide, master toy agreement includes rights to produce figures, playsets, plush and more.

LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales, An All-New Series of Event Specials, Acquired by Disney XD

ENFIELD, Conn., Feb. 27, 2015 -- The LEGO Group, world renowned manufacturer of construction toys, today announced that Disney XD has acquired LEGO® Star Wars™: Droid Tales for airing later this year. The animated content series consists of five 22-minute episodes that re-tell the Star Wars saga in chronological order from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace up through Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Disney XD is also currently home to the animated hit series Star Wars Rebels.

February 2015 - Fans of 6-inch action figures should head over to Kickstarter to check out the new campaign by Play With This Too. They have launched a campaign to create a series of action figures called Lost Protectors. The figures have interchangeable parts (via ball joint connectors) and plenty of accessories.

Kickstarter: Lost Protectors from Play With This Too - the campaign closes on March 29th.
