DIAMOND SELECT TOYS' MINIMATES TO RECEIVE FIRST EVER TOYFARE HALL OF FAME AWARD FOR A TOY LINE!
The MiniMates Line Of Block Figures Will Be Inducted At The Inaugural Ceremony
Congers, NY (May 19, 2008) - The fast-approaching Wizard World Philadelphia comic convention will host the 1st Annual ToyFare Hall of Fame Awards. ToyFare, America's leading consumer toy publication, has chosen Diamond Select Toys' MiniMates line to receive the first award for a toy line. The playful and innovative series began in 2002 and has since gone on to encompass miniaturized versions of icons from every corner of pop culture. From the popular and expansive assortment of Marvel and DC Comics superheroes to figures from films and television shows like Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Back to the Future and Rocky, the MiniMates line has provided fans of all ages with imaginative representations of their favorite characters. The 2" tall figures come with an unprecedented 14 points of articulation making them infinitely poseable.
"The MiniMates line is for the fans, and that's exactly who Art Asylum had in mind when they created the line," said Chuck Terceira, Director at Diamond Select Toys. "And it's the fans that've helped make this line what it is, so we're extremely thankful to them for this award."
The other entities rounding out the inaugural inductees are Randy Falk of NECA, C.S. Moore Studio's Clayburn Moore, and the Four Horsemen.
The Wizard World comic convention is coming to Philadelphia from May 30th to June 1st.
