The new collection is the first line of authentic luggage to bear the Barbie(R) Brand, as well as the first branded luggage line for girls ages 4 - 12.

"Our market research continually pointed to the fact that young girls wanted their own luggage," says Jeffrey Fisher, President and CEO of Pyramid Accessories, Inc. "As a company that has created accessory lines for hundreds of children's brands for over 75 years, we knew that the Barbie(R) brand would be the perfect fit for the first truly authentic luggage collection for girls."

"We're excited to partner with Pyramid on a Barbie(TM) luggage line for girls," says Richard Dickson, Senior Vice President/Worldwide Girls Consumer Products, Mattel, Inc. "Little girls have become increasingly familiar with traveling. What was once reserved for business travelers and globetrotters has become a part of many girls' lives and keeping right in step with the increased popularity of travel is the Barbie(R) brand."

Targeting both mass-market retailers and specialty department stores, Pyramid has created two separate Barbie(TM) luggage collections at different price points, with unique creative approaches. Barbie(TM) Travel Luggage collections consists of four matching pieces, that are functional and fashionable. Constructed train cases, fun fashion foldovers that double as backpacks, easy-to-maneuver roll-alongs with smooth in-line skating wheels, and spacious weekend bags promise to delight young girls on-the-go.

Capturing the Barbie(R) Brand's spirit, the product design is pink with the signature Barbie(TM) pattern and lots of fun, hidden compartments. Parents will certainly appreciate each piece's sturdy hardware and strict attention to detail. Retail prices range from $9.99 to $79.99 and is available at Macy's Herald Square, Lord & Taylor, Toys R Us and luggage boutiques nationwide.
