Vampire Hunter D is one of the best-known anime features ever produced. Written and directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri (Ninja Scroll, Wicked City) and based on a novel by Hideyuki Kikuchi, the story revolves around "D," an infamous dunpeal (born of a vampire father and a human mother) outcast and renowned vampire hunter. His prowess at hunting the creatures of the night allowing him acceptance among humans.
