Three hot new figures based on one of the most popular science-fiction anime properties of all time are about to hit the shelves, available through Diamond Comic Distributors.

The popularity and success of Neon Genesis Evangelion has no bounds. This acclaimed sci-fi anime supplies its ever-growing and demanding fan-base with videos, DVDs, manga, T-shirts, plush dolls, posters, calendars, and, yes, action figures. The fervent fans will not want to miss out on the chance to show their support and add to their collections.

Popular Japanese artist Mr. Shinobu Matsumura, who is well known for his outstanding skills in sculpting animals and models, sculpted the first of these figures, the Matsumura EVA Figure. Imported from Japan, this artist's 7" version of EVA Unit 01 features a detailed display base and four points of articulation. But the real draw for this figure is its removable armor, where, by removing the shoulder plates and head, the hidden organic creature beneath is revealed! The figure also comes equipped with a removable knife that fits in its right hand, and has die-cast legs and a die-cast chest that can be removed to reveal the EVA's inner core. This unique figure will be ready to ship in February 2002.

Also imported from Japan, the Neon Genesis Evangelion EVA Figures in Launch Tube Packaging capture the magnificence of the biomechanical weapons that are the Evangelion Units. The unstable first-born Unit 00 (blue) and the extremist Unit 02 (red) are offered with the same great accessories, wild articulation, and metallic paint, but now in a space-conserving package designed to resemble the "Launch Tubes" that house the colossal EVAs at NERV. Both of these figures are scheduled to ship January 2002.
