Corgi Classics: New Permanent Showroom

SAN FRANCISCO--April 8, 2002-- Corgi Classics, long a favorite brand with U.S. collectors of model miniature cars and trucks, has opened a permanent showroom at the Toy Center in New York.

One of the top brands in the die-cast replica vehicle market, Corgi has expanded the number of its retail storefronts in the U.S. in recent years, leading to the need for a permanent, year-round showroom convenient to major retail chain buyers. Location in the Toy Center was a natural fit, according to John Dunkel, vice president and general manager, North America, Corgi Classics, Inc., an operating division of Zindart Limited.

"Corgi has become a formidable brand in the U.S., complimenting our acknowledged market leadership in the U.K. and our growing sales around the world," Dunkel said. "We're just making it more convenient for buyers from the larger chains and expanding the service we can provide at Toy Fair and during other industry trade shows."

Corgi's new showroom, located in Suite 851 at the Toy Center South, 200 Fifth Ave., New York, has a showroom area with specially designed Corgi cases and fixtures and two private conference rooms.

Corgi markets several lines of military collectibles including Forgotten Heroes(TM), a line commemorating the veterans of the Korean War, and Unsung Heroes(TM), a line of highly detailed military vehicles and aviation equipment used in the Vietnam War. Other popular ranges include Heroes under Fire(TM), a line of emergency vehicles used by fire departments around the country; a licensed series of Budweiser® collectibles; a Heavy Haulers(TM) line of eight wheeler semis; and a group of Film and Television Favorites. Another popular line is Corgi's collection of James Bond movie vehicles and icons.

The entire collectibles line, including the company's Showcase models are on display.
