The newly formed Aztech Toyz has announced its first offering: Silent Screamers! This line of articulated action figures will make its debut for Toy Fair but we have an exclusive first look at what the line is all about. Based on two silent movie horror classics, this line will recreate characters from Nosferatu and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. The four figure line will consist of Graf Orlok and Renfield from Nosferatu and Dr. Caligari and Casere from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

The figures were designed by the staff at the Art Asylum who will be guiding these figures all the way through to their completion. Each character has been tweaked to give it the look and feel of the original character with a more stylized and updated design. The first series is slated to hit stores in the Summer of 2000.

Each figure comes with a removable environmental/dioramic base. The bases for Graf Orlak and Renfield interconnect to form one larger dsiplay space.

As a late-breaking yet awesome surprise, the packaging artwork will be contributed by none other than the legendary Alex Ross. Mr. Ross is best know for his painted covers of the Astro City comic and artwork on the groundbreaking Marvels and Kingdom Come series. We are told that Mr. Ross' artwork will lend an eerily appropriate tone to the overal figure presentation. We can't wait!
