SEATTLE -- Sept. 19, 2002 -- Based on initial sales results in test markets and online, Toys "R" Us has expanded its retail agreement with WizKids to now sell WizKids' Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge in stores nationwide.
Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge features Spider-Man, X-men, Hulk and other licensed characters from Marvel Comics. In its first month of release after being introduced by WizKids (www.wizkidsgames.com)in May, the game sold more than 1.3 million units.
"As a toy and game company, it's a major vote of confidence for the largest toy retailer in the U.S. to be selling our games chainwide," said Jordan Weisman, WizKids' founder and CEO. "The availability of Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge at all Toys 'R' Us stores is a testament to this game's popularity."
Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge features 150 different Marvel Comics' characters in the complete collection. The game is available in Starter Sets that contain eight random Marvel Comics miniatures and everything needed to play for $19.95, and players can expand their HeroClix collection with Booster Packs that contain four miniatures for $6.95. The "Premier Edition" of Marvel HeroClix: Infinity Challenge contains 10 pre-selected miniatures for $29.95.
