Sideshow/Weta: The Two Towers

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA � December 13, 2002 --- Sideshow Toy is pleased to announce that they have again partnered with the talented artists of award winning Weta Workshop of New Zealand (special effects company for the LOTR trilogy) to bring Lord of the Rings fans some of the most exquisitely detailed statues and busts in honor of the release of the second movie in New Line Cinema's, "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "The Two Towers".
Continuing their incredible Lord of the Rings collectible line, Sideshow Weta Collectibles will offer a selection of very limited busts and statues to Tolkien fans. Each figure has been lovingly crafted and hand painted to obtain the most detailed collectible. Each figure and bust will be limited to 2,000 to 3,000 pieces worldwide, and will retail from $50 to $150 per figure.
The first series in the "The Two Tower" product line up is scheduled for January 2003 release. It will feature hand-painted polystone busts featuring the extremely popular, Legolas Greenleaf (Orlando Bloom), the evil Saruman (Christopher Lee), lovely Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) and new to the line up Grima Wormtongue (Brad Dourif). Following this release will be 3 highly detailed statues including the beloved "Gandalf the White (Ian McKellen), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and an incredibly detailed Easterling Soldier.
Sideshow Weta have also introduced extremely limited sculptures of "larger that life figures" from the LOTR trilogy. These incredibly sculpted works of art, will feature "The Balrog", "The Watcher in the Water", "The Stone Trolls", "The Cave Troll" and more. Each work of art will be limited to 500 - 1000 piece runs world wide, and are available in the US exclusively at www.sideshowweta.com.

A complete 2003 LOTR collectible line up will be on display at the Sideshow Toy booth #1981, Level 3, at the Jacob Javitz Center at the New York International Toy Fair from February 16th through 19th.
