Like Play Mind's other creations, the X-Joints are unlicensed, original designs created and developed by a team of highly skilled product designers. While the numerous appealing features of these innovative playthings has already been revealed, the story behind these up and coming collectibles remains a mystery... until now.
Future Earth is an apocalyptic wasteland, inhabited not by humans, but by a cannibalistic cybergenic race of warriors, known as X-Joints. These warriors live for no other reason than to battle each other for power units, the X-Joints' genetic building block. After defeating an opponent, the victorious warrior introduces the power units of the fallen into its own body, thus becoming stronger. The X-Joints' only law is survival of the fittest. If you want to survive... BUILD AND DESTROY. Lead toy designer for Play Mind, Nathan Tabor, reflects on the inspiration for creating the X-Joints. "Our initial goal in developing the X-Joints was creating a figure that could fulfill beyond the building stage, and provide entertainment once the construction had been completed." This was accomplished by adding key activated features, firing projectiles, and other character-specific accessories. "We want to keep the customer building and changing these figures, always coming up with new solutions to accommodate their particular play needs." Play Mind's unique technique of stressing the building and creative play pattern, sets the X-Joints apart from many others that are currently offered on the market. Tabor continues, "The advantage to these figures is that they overcome the typical role play boredom that ensues after the first few weeks. These figures can be altered to suit the imagination of the creator."
Composed of more than 24 interchangeable bio-unit pieces, each of the six X-Joints figure parts are interchangeable, providing maximum play and creative building capability. The bright and vibrant color scheme of these figures is intended to appeal to a wide range of ages, whether young children, teens, or avid collectors. Further details and production updates concerning the X-Joints are soon to follow.
