Classic Star Trek Coming Soon

star trek action figures

July 2003 - The wait is over, as Star Trek fans worldwide can finally rejoice in seeing their favorite classic Star Trek series immortalized by the inmates at Art Asylum. This line was created for today's hardcore toy collector and Star Trek fan alike. "Without question this is the what everyone has been waiting to see and we're very proud of the offering," notes President, Digger. "Being a serious Classic Trek fan myself, this was really something I've always wanted to do. I feel we put our best foot forward on this line and I think the fans will be pleased."

The initial offering includes a (5) figure set of 7" action figures featuring the classic crew icons, "Kirk™", "Spock™", "Bones", "Uhura" and genetically engineered super villain "Khan", who was played by screen legend Ricardo Montalban. Art Asylum chose to release the long awaited starship U.S.S. ENTERPRISE™ NCC-1701-A as part of its ongoing STARSHIP LEGENDS toy line. A fan favorite last seen in STAR TREK: VI The Undiscovered Country, this ship has never been done in toy form. The detailed 16" starship will feature official Star Trek sounds and light effects. Classic Star Trek "Phaser pistol", also a fan fave, continues the new Art Asylum TREK TEK collection. Star Trek aficionados will be pleased to learn that the classic Phaser splits into (2) weapons, just as it did on the show.

Details from character likeness to the exact replication of accessories, were accomplished by going back into the Star Trek archives using original costumes, props and never before seen photo reference. A mix of low tech traditional sculpting tools and high-end state of the art 3d modeling techniques were used to re-create everything from phasers to the starship Enterprise. "It was a painstaking process," recalls Art Asylum Director and self proclaimed Trek nut, Manny Jesus. "Every detail was accounted for wherever we could in this toy line and I know the fans will appreciate the effort we went through to give them the best Star Trek toys ever made."
