Ethnikos Collection Plush Toys

August 2003 - WASHINGTON, D.C. Mabek Inc.'s "Ethnikos Collection," an African folk-art inspired toy line, received great response and interest at the 100th International Toy Fair at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Global retailers from the U.S., to France, to Mexico visited the booth, placed orders and expressed delight in the line. Media representatives from several key newspapers and magazines conducted interviews and made commitments to spotlight the Ethnikos Collection™ in upcoming issues.

The Ethnikos Collection™ uses traditional West African fabrics whose origins are associated with expressions of love, peace and world harmony. With vibrant colors, great messages and a quality product, each toy in the collection conveys its historical meaning and brings an uplifting spiritual feeling and positive social message to the consumer, the home and to all surroundings.

"We had some great feedback from buyers," said designer Ajuma Ataguba. "They said 'This is exactly what I was looking for'... 'Something different... I like it'...and 'Perfect for our Collection'. We took orders from buyers in the U.S., France, Mexico, and Jamaica to name a few. I guess Ethnikos are something that all countries can agree on."

Ms. Ataguba also announced that Mabek, Inc. will be donating a portion of its profits to two African charities including the Ikoyi Junior Chamber, Lagos (Affiliated with Nigeria Junior Chamber and Junior Chamber International with headquarters in St Louis, Missouri, this youth leadership training organization whose alumni include Presidents Ford, Clinton, and U.N. Secretary General Kofi Anan focuses on individual development and internationalism); www.juniorchamber.org; and Ateko Women Association of Agbeji-Kogi State, Nigeria which focuses on the development of young girls and has recently undertaken an orphanage supported in part by American missionaries (no website yet).

The varied interest in the line reflects its wide-ranging appeal to all kids. As the world is gradually becoming a global village, the Ethnikos Collection™ is well positioned to teach kids of all ages about HARMONY in the World.

Toys in the Ethnikos Collection™ are available to retailers worldwide. If interested in the collection please contact Mabek Inc. by visiting the website: www.mabekinc.com or via e-mail [email protected] or 202-276-5786.
