New "Leading Ladies" Series Debuts at Event With Sultry Jessica Rabbit
Itasca, Ill., January 16, 2004 - Enesco Group, Inc., a leader in the giftware, collectible and home décor industry, announced today an exciting new porcelain sculpture series from the Walt Disney Classics Collection celebrating Disney's "Leading Ladies" with the debut of an all-new sculpture during its Spring Premiere Sculpture Event, March 26 - 28, 2004. The sculpture depicts sultry Jessica Rabbit, the star of Toontown's celebrated Ink and Paint Club, as she makes her grand entrance to purr a rendition of the torch song "Why Don't You Do Right?" in a show-stopping scene from the acclaimed film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988).
The sculpture, entitled "I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Drawn That Way" (9" high) is being released as a numbered limited edition of 5,000 and will only be available at select retailers during the Spring Premiere Sculpture weekend event. The new sculpture is the first release in the all-new "Leading Ladies" series from the Walt Disney Classics Collection.
Created by master Disney sculptor Kent Melton, the new sculpture continues the Walt Disney Classics Collection's tradition of "plussing" sculptures with mixed media (including pewter, crystals, blown glass and wood) to enhance the believability and detail of each piece. "I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Drawn That Way" features purple glitter paint and pink, bronze high-heel shoes. The sculpture has a suggested retail price of $150.

In "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," gumshoe detective Eddie Valiant is on the job in both Hollywood and Toontown, and the line between reality and fantasy gets blurred as Eddie tries to solve a major "who dunnit." He's thrown for quite a set of curves when he meets Jessica Rabbit, the sultry "toon" who whispers, "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way." When Eddie gets mixed up with the fast-talking "toon" Roger Rabbit he finds himself crossing paths with such characters as the hilarious Baby Herman, Benny the Cab, the sinister Judge Doom and more, in a wacky adventure of a lifetime.
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" premiered at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on June 21, 1988, instantly becoming a milestone of film innovation and the recipient of four Academy Awards (Best Film Editing, Best Sound Effects Editing, Best Visual Effects and Special Achievement in Animation Direction). A zany comedy that crosses from Hollywood to Toontown and back, the film's fast-paced story is told through a breathtaking mix of live-action and animation. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film's all-star cast includes Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Cassidy and Kathleen Turner as the voice of Jessica Rabbit.
