(Milford, Conn.) June 23, 2004 -- Subway Restaurants, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Comics are teaming up to introduce a collection of four exciting toys, some of them activity-encouraging, based on Kids' WB!'s popular animated television series from Warner Bros. Animation, Static Shock(TM). For this promotion, the restaurant chain has also partnered with Kids II to offer a toy premium for children 18-months through pre-school. The toys are available now through July 4, 2004, in Subway Kids' Pak meals, at participating restaurants in the United States and Canada.
Based on the DC Comics/Milestone comic book series, Static Shock is a groundbreaking program featuring the first African-American animated teen super hero. Static Shock addresses urban themes and relevant social issues through compelling storylines, edgy humor and contemporary music and tackles tough subject matters in a way that is instructive, entertaining and full of attitude.
The Subway Kids' Pak meal consists of a deli-style sandwich, a Minute Maid 100% Juice juice-box and a Fruit Roll-Ups fruit snack. Additionally, one of the following toys will be available with each meal:
- Static Shock - Bring your Static Shock figurine with you wherever you go. Pose him into different positions.
- Static Sky Surfer - Throw the Static Sky Surfer as far as you can and watch Static Shock spin around and around.
- Static Energy Stick Challenge - Try your best to balance the large Static Shock stick with two lightning rod shaped sticks. It's a challenge!
- Hotstreak's Fireball - Throw the fireball as far as you can and try to make it land in the ring as it soars through the air, leaving a trail of fire behind it.
- Giggle Rattle - An adorable, safe plastic rattle. From Kids II, a brand Moms know and trust.
The promotion will be supported on the Internet at www.subwaykids.com and through nationally produced point-of-purchase materials. Ryan Partnership, Westport, Conn., is the agency in charge of POP material, with b.little + Co., New York, NY, responsible for production. In addition, visitors to www.subwaykids.com can check out the toys and play fun games. The web site also includes a resource for parents striving to manage their children's diet and exercise levels. Parents and children can "Ask Jared Fogle" about how he lost his weight or how they can incorporate fun exercises into their everyday life.
