August 17, 2005 (SEATTLE) - WizKids Inc., creator of the runaway hit games Pirates of the Spanish Main™ and HeroClix®, is proud to announce the release of Rocketmen™: Axis of Evil, its newest constructible strategy game (CSG)!
"We couldn't be more excited about this great game and new brand," said Mike Samora, vice president of Sales and Marketing for WizKids®. "We're returning to the fun, old-fashioned future of 1940s space serials and combining it with the proven record of the CSG genre." Rocketmen features dashing hero Nick Sion, rocketman of Earth, who faces off against the evil Legion of Terra, which threatens to overrun the solar system.
Players build ships from styrene cards, customize them, and deploy fleets in order to destroy or capture opposing ships. Rocketmen features a resource-gathering and -management mechanic that allows players to build more ships in the middle of the game, making each match a truly unique experience. Everything one person needs to rocket into the future comes in one low-priced (MSRP $3.99) Game Pack. A standalone expansion, Rocketmen: Battle of Titans, is scheduled to release December 2005.
