Stark Raven Update: The Assault Begins Next Month!
|
RTM has been reporting about Endless Horizons Entertainment's Stark Raven since early summer, when word first broke at Licensing 2000, and we are pleased to bring you the very latest concerning this upcoming property. With over fifteen years of development, Stark Raven offers impressive depth in storylines, plots and characterization. By combining deep, intricately woven stories and eye-popping character designs, the target market focus groups of both adults and kids will be mesmerized by this future classic. This exciting new property will be introduced to the public through the comic series, Stark Raven: The Screaming Rain, in September with the uniquely detailed and articulated Collector's Shadow Box Edition Action Figures following in October. The toyline (seen below) was developed between the inmates at Art Asylum, Draxhall Jump and sculptor Tony Cipriano. Stark Raven: The Animated Series is scheduled to premiere with 26 weekly episodes in the Fall of 2001. Season One episodes will premiere with "The Screaming Rain", followed by intriguing and technological thrillers such as: "The Future Affair", "The Madness Within", "The Brink", "Storm Drifter", and "Shadows of Madness", just to name a few. However, you can get an early look at the animated series in Spring 2001 when the Stark Raven:The Screaming Rain animated 90-minute direct-to-video movie debuts. So, just what is Stark Raven? "They wanted my mind...And when I stood between them and the technology I created...They wanted MY LIFE!"
As a scientific soldier of the N.E.S.T. (Network of Elite Soldiers & Technology) and FUTURE, the man that becomes Stark Raven learned that there were many self-righteous elitist agencies that would cross any line in the name of scientific human advancement. He was subjected to brainwashing to obscure the lines between right and wrong. After he defected with his discoveries in hand, N.E.S.T. employed "soul washing" in a failed attempt to remove conscience, compassion and values. After failing to reprogram his will completely, the N.E.S.T. attempted to kill him during the highly classified "Project: Nusol". After taking ten bullets and falling into the middle of the Pacific Ocean, anyone else would have surely died. But N.E.S.T.'s top commanders knew the caliber of the man they apparenltly killed. Thus, when Stark Raven attacks the N.E.S.T. two years later just when the objectives of Project: Nusol are being achieved, fearful rumors begin that their most dreaded enemy has returned. Everyone was sure he died...except those who killed him. Stark Raven explores lines between right and wrong and thought provoking moral questions relating to scientific advancement often obscured in clouds of gray. The stories contain messages that spirituality and science need not be in conflict if both are used in the quest for the truth and human prosperity. The stormy saga of Stark Raven is a deep, dark psychological thriller about the fragility, resilincy and ultimate beauty of the human spirit. It's about the will to live, love, give and sacrifice for others despite anguish, odds, despair, depression, death, desolation, betrayal and loss. Ultimately, Stark Raven is a spiritual saga disguised as a dark, macabre, hard-hitting action thriller. Fans will get their first look at Stark Raven in September when the first issue of the comic book debuts. The series is written by Stark Raven's creator, Ken Smith. Comic industry veterans Walter McDaniel and Ken Lashley will supply the pencils, Rich Perotta handles the inks and Christopher Soto Mayer brings everything to life in beautiful color.
