Super7 Goes Big in Japantown

Super7

San Francisco, CA - September 1st, 2006 - With a rapidly growing customer base, the Super7 store in Japantown has tripled in size by moving into the space directly next door to 1628 Post St. The new location has undergone a top-to-bottom re-design at the hands of husband and wife design duo, Brian Flynn and Dora Drimalas, co-owners of Super7 and Hybrid Design in San Francisco.

About the new look and feel for the shop, Flynn says, "We wanted to make a store that everyone would want to visit. It is not just toys, but everything that we come across in our daily lives. Books, magazines, clothes, movies, journals... you name it. The difference is, we wanted to make sure these things are presented in a special way - to show them as the unique and incredibly designed items that they really are." With lush dark wood flooring and fixtures, custom lighting and pristine glass cases housing vintage Japanese toys, every element of the new store's design has been carefully curated. The store will also carry a variety of clothing and art-prints made by Hybrid Design, local and national artists, Japanese fashion brands and local companies such as Gama-Go.

To kick the new spot off proper, Super7 will host a grand opening party at 7pm on Friday September 8th. With a book signing by various Pixar artists, an art installation by Cupco, the release of local toy company FUN FUN's new plush line, and security provided by real-life Storm Troopers, the opening is sure to be a good time.

About Super7
Super7 began as the only English-language Japanese toy zine in 2004, and has since evolved into a geek-chic lifestyle publication focusing on toys, art and design. The Super7 store opened in 2004, selling Japanese toys and showcasing the works of both local and national artists such as Jeremy Fish, Tim Biskup, Gary Baseman and Pushead.
