-Hasbro's 'Star Wars' Black Series features new 6-inch action figures
-The first wave features Luke Skywalker, Darth Maul, R2-D2 and a Sandtrooper
cannot wait for these!!! been hoping they'd do this since ml hit.
Can't wait to see what Darth Maul looks like.
Why not have R2-D2 as the BAF? $20 is high but can't resist...
But seriousily tired of all Prequel Charactors.
I agree. $20 is a lot of money tod rop on, R2-D2. I want as many Jedi, Sith, & Bounty Hunters as we can get from this line. Here's hoping!
Vader should have been in the first wave. Let's do the iconic characters first.
This is pretty awesome if they follow through and finish everybody. It's good they're saving some A-Listers for later so that the line won't die out in the next few waves. If the first wave was Han, Luke, Vader and Leia. then the later waves would just be full of junk.
Though as the 3 3/4" line has taught us...there are a million variants of Luke/Vader etc. and people will buy them all
I can't wait for Lando to come out in this series and have to explain to my non collecting friends what Star Wars the Black series actually means...
Fantastic line... Odd choice for a name. Seems like "Silver Series" would have sounded better, and still kept the reference to the vintage packaging.
I will probably pick and choose. I'm just wondering if we will be able to find these without buying full case assortments.
I want a Boba Fett, IG-88, & Admiral Ackbar.
This has been the news ive waited on for years. I've grown bored of the std 3.75 line and would prefer to sell it all and collect versions of the new 6" line. No more side show or hot toys... Just this line as the happy medium. Less waves, more money and better quality. We pay roughly half of the cost for the new line now as it is.
I've alwAys loved Maul but vader should have been there as well. They want to be able to showcase the detail factor I'm sure.
Next will be gi joe.
well, shhhhhh...oot.
I haven't bought a Star Wars figure in years, but this could get me back for sure. Definitely going to be VERY picky, though - this could get very expensive very quick, and I don't have a lot of Star Wars space anymore!
I'll pick and choose on these, but they'll be the first Star Wars toys I've bought in over a decade. I'm eager to see Vader, Fett, and Jedi Luke. Man, it feels weird to be excited about Star Wars again.
The more I read about this, the more I think about what Hasbro is going to do to us at SDCC13..what figure or figures will they offer as an exclusive that will be a nightmare to get...

I could see repaints (Blackhole Stormtrooper, R2 units, protocol droids) and Pilots (Wedge, Biggs) that would only require a new head sculpt.
black label/top shelf liquor = star wars black series. best of the best that hasbro can offer.?
.
I'll probably only be buying aliens from this line, but I hope it does well for them. The packaging seems a bit excessive, though.
I'll be down for anyone from A New Hope.
And, obviously, Admiral Piett, should we get that far.

JJJ, I would have thought that a man of your stature would surely recognize and appreciate the brilliance of General Max Veers.
Rebelscum is reporting Boba Fett is the SDCC Exclusive. Which version? No one knows just yet.
30th anniversary of jedi
Haven't bought a Star Wars toy since 1980 and I might get a few of these if they all look that good.
I feared this would happen....the best part of the Rebelscum report was the don't worry comments. It must be nice to be handed exclusives this instead of having to battle the SW Collector and Dealer Population on HTS. I was only ever able to get 1 MU Masters of Evil Set on HTS last year, but I'm sure a 6" inch Fett will be way easier to get right?

I'm thinking it'll be more like the Marvel Legends Thor, Marvel Universe Galactus & Sentinel - same figures that show up at retail, special con packaging.
.
I would have to agree. I can't see Hasbro deciding to have one of the series' most popular characters unavailable at retail.
This would be the only sensible solution, or as Rebelscum alluded to, perhaps releasing a variant such as the McQuarrie concept or the Animated First Appearance to SDCC.

Wouldn't be the first time and when they have put their exclusives out to retail they've been in colors nobody wanted. The iconic version of the Sentinel was sold at SDCC, the retail version was blue and didn't sell even on clearance, I still see them around! The game accurate version of the Transformers Fall of Cybertron Combaticons was the SDCC exclusive while the retail version was in bright neon colors that nobody could explain. If Boba Fett is going to be an SDCC exclusive I can only imagine what the retail version will be like.

I do, and I appreciate that he's the only Imperial officer to actually accomplish something in the trilogy, but I've always had a thing for ineffectual authority figures and that's Piett all the way.
It's also the Burton era Commissioner Gordon, who I also love.
Go figure...
