- Mego released two series of 3 3/4-inch figures based on the first Star Trek movie in 1979 and 1980
- The first series is composed of crew members and is common: Kirk, Decker, Ilia, McCoy, Spock, and Scotty
- The second series is composed of aliens and is scarce: Arcturian, Betelgusian, Klingon, Megarite, Rigellian, and Zaranite
- All 12 figures feature solid construction (no rubber bands)
- All figures have 5 points of articulation: neck, shoulders, and hips
- Ertl repained three of the Mego figures for their dealer catalog to advertize the Star Trek III line, the production versions of which were completely new figures

- Mego released 8-inch Star Trek figures from 1974 to 1976 in three series, which are progressively more scarce. Series one featured Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, and Klingon. The second series added Uhura, Cheron, Gorn, Keeper, and Neptunian. Series three featured Andorian, Mugato, Romulan, and Talos
- Mego also released 12-inch figures for Star Trek: the Motion Picture in 1979: Arcturian, Decker, Ilia, Kirk, Klingon, and Spock
- Ertl released four 3 3/4-inch figures for Star Trek III
- Galoob released ten 3 3/4-inch figures for Star Trek the Next Generation
- Playmates released hundreds of larger-scale Trek action figures since 1992
- Playmates included 3 3/4-inch figures, including a Leonard Nimoy Spock, in their line for the 2009 Star Trek reboot
- In 2015, Funko released a line of retro 3 3/4-inch original-series Trek figures in their ReAction line; figures from TNG are also planned
