Star Shimmer: My Little Pony

PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- October 27, 2004 -- Hasbro's MY LITTLE PONY brand and the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation are teaming up this fall to help bring smiles, fun and friendship to children nationwide. The program goal is to raise funds to support the organization and provide entertainment to the children of the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to serving seriously ill children and their families.

The program kicks off this month with the introduction of a new MY LITTLE PONY character specifically designed to support the Foundation. The pony, aptly named STAR SHIMMER, will be sold exclusively at all Toys "R" Us stores, with $1 from the sale of each STAR SHIMMER pony benefiting the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation. A limited number of ponies will be sold, making it a collectible.

Hasbro, a longtime supporter of the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, will also bring entertainment to the children of the organization. On Saturday, November 13, Hasbro will invite hundreds of local Starlight Starbright children to enjoy a MY LITTLE PONY-themed morning at Loews theatres in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. Attendees will parade down a "pink" carpet and then enjoy face painting, storytelling of MY LITTLE PONY books and a screening of the new MY LITTLE PONY video, "Dancing in the Clouds." The children will also receive a MY LITTLE PONY gift bag, courtesy of Harper Collins and American Greetings.

Hasbro will also distribute 400 MY LITTLE PONY "Dancing in the Clouds" videos to hospitals nationwide that are serviced by the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation. Children at these hospitals can enjoy the movie either through MY LITTLE PONY viewing parties, which will take place this fall, or through the hospital's video library. To extend the party atmosphere for the children, Hasbro will donate toys to the children in the hospitals where special viewing parties are taking place.

"We are pleased to be able to bring the magical world of MY LITTLE PONY to the children of the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation," said Karen Davis, vice president of community relations for Hasbro. "These children deserve a day where they can immerse themselves in something magical. Experiencing the fantasy of a MY LITTLE PONY movie will give them a day they will remember."
