Diamond Announces New Graphic Novel Common Core List

(BALTIMORE, MD) - (July 1, 2013) - To help educators and librarians select graphic novel materials to fit into their Common Core Standards curricula, Diamond Book Distributors (DBD) has created the Diamond Graphic Novel Common Core List.

(BALTIMORE,MD) - (June 17, 2013)- UK based publisher Pedigree Books has signed with Diamond Comic Distributors (DCD) allowing their publications to be distributed to bookstore and comic book specialty stores in North America. Diamonds and Pedigree's joint efforts mark the first time Pedigree's publications will be offered in the US.

Pedigree is a highly respected publisher in the United Kingdom, holding market leading status in character Annuals, Yearbooks and related activity formats. These 80 paged Annuals cover all aspects of pop culture such as trending music, TV, movies, video games, toys and much more continuing with traditional household brand name properties such as Barbie, Star Wars, Angry Birds, Family Guy and Pokémon. The market leading titles appeal to readers of all ages and feature creative activities such as comics, puzzles and character profiles.

Four Contests to Enter Soon

June 30, 2013 - Do you have a few extra minutes? Good, because there are a few contests you might want to enter:

- Diamond Comics has a Man of Steel/IMAX contest happening on their PREVIEWSworld web site. Enter by July 5th. Prizes include IMAX tickets, a DC Collectibles statue of Superman, Man of Steel LEGO sets, Superman graphic novels, and lots more Superman goodies.

Event promotes comic shops as great destinations for Halloween activities, shopping and fun!

(BALTIMORE, MD) - (June 17, 2013) - After the success of last year's inaugural event, Diamond Comic Distributors is pleased to announce the return of the industry-wide collaboration known as Halloween ComicFest.

This year's event will take place at participating comic shops in North America and elsewhere, on the weekend before Halloween, October 26th and 27th. During that time, adults and kids can go into their local comic shop and get free Halloween-themed comics and mini-comics published specifically for Halloween ComicFest, with many retailers planning special displays, activities and costume contests for their stores.

(BALTIMORE, MD) - (May 28, 2013) - The first Saturday in May 2013 was a busy day for participating comic shops all over the world, as retailers gave away a record-breaking 4.6 million comics in almost 2,000 different locations during Free Comic Book Day. An estimated 1.2 million comic fans flocked to their local comic shops to take in the festivities. Customers lined up in front of their favorite stores the day before to make sure they were one of the first to get the 52 free comics offered by 40 publishers this year.
