I've always thought of this line as: "The X-Men Get Buffed!" This is the first line to display the steroidal tendencies common to later series (most notable when comparing Apocalypse I with Apocalypse II). This was an extremely popular series, selling out very quickly with almost no shelf stragglers. Another KayBee exclusive figure also resulted from this assortment. The inclusion of a modern X-Factor character (Strong Guy) and a new X-Men team character (Bishop) showed hopeful signs for the future of this line.
