January 21, 2014 - Toys'R'Us has sent out an email with a link to an in-store coupon you can print to get 30% off of your entire clearance purchase. The coupon is good through February 2nd.

Print the coupon to use in-store (the link goes to a .pdf file). The coupon is also good at Babies'R'Us stores and the pdf includes a separate coupon for certain baby items on clearance.

January 20, 2014 - We were hermits in December, but the Adventure Time toys at McDonald's lured us out... and then the toys were delayed! The boy was so mad about it that he didn't even want to stay and eat there on that visit. The second time we checked for the Adenture Time toys, he had settled down a bit and accepted the Ice Age toy and played in the playroom. He's caught on to eBay now, so after getting the first Jake toy, he requested that I just "order the rest" from eBay.

FIRST HOME TV "SETS"

Profile America - Monday, January 13th. Couch potatoes can trace their roots to this date in 1928, when three experimental television sets were installed in private homes in Schenectady, New York. Not that there was much to see, the test broadcast by General Electric and RCA being of a woman smoking, followed by a man playing a ukulele. The first home receivers' screens were only 1½ inches square; a far cry from today's theater-sized flat screens. And in another departure from 1928's lonely three, the percentage of U.S. households with TV sets now has held steady for many years at over 98 percent, and of course, many households have multiple sets. Even with heavy foreign competition, U.S. manufacturers ship close to $1.2 billion worth of TV sets annually.
