It turns out that the Purple Man that was a part of the set, was indeed a custom figure. I was looking last night on ebay for Marvel Universe figures and low and behold there was the figure for auction.
The more I look at the figure, the more the face on the figure looked like the guy who played Destro from the first GI Joe Movie.
Anyway that was my post from today

I will include a pic of the link too

so i take it no chance of this figure to be made??

It says it's based on the figure in the display, not that it is the figure in the display.
"The figure is based on the version in the Hasbro Marvel Universe display at San Diego Comic Con 2012"

I don't know why you'd think that it's not the ACTUAL figure from the set. And nothing says they couldn't give it a new headsculpt...the display version could be a proto using existing parts while a sculpt is in the works.
ok I thought it was, sorry about that, it looked very simlar.
My apologies

I jumped to a conclusion..however there MIGHT BE a possibility still left for a Purple Man figure for the Marvel Universe line
Avian
Possibly because the Hasbro people at SDCC stated that the Purple Man, Sharon Carter, and Doombots were customs made for the display. According to them...no plans for adding them to the MU line at the moment.
