September 2008 - Every couple of weeks, Mattel will answer five questions per web site about their various product lines. Here are the answers for the past few questions:
1. What are the ratios for the variant figures in the DCUC Series 3? (Not production numbers, but ratios of variants to regular versions.)
Answer: Sorry, this is not information we give out for any of the waves.
2. With the announcement of Wally West as Kid Flash for DC Universe Classics Series 7 and Tim Drake as Robin from Series 3, we now have the beginnings of two different Teen Titans rosters (Classic Perez Era and Modern Era). What are the chances of seeing Bart Allen as Kid Flash (and hopefully an Impulse variant) and Dick Grayson as Robin in the next year or so to help complete these teams? Or should we assume these are the only Kid Flash and Robin figures we are getting, and try to make due with what we're being offered to form a team made of different eras?
Answer: If there is one thing about the DCUC line, it is expect the unexpected! Just because we do one version of a character one year does not make him or her off limits for another version down the road!
3. Can we get a timeline of when the online JLU exclusives will be rolled out?
Answer: We had a few issues with shipping when we opened MattyCollector.com in July and want to make sure we have worked all of that out before we announce any specific release dates for future product. Never fear, it is all still coming soon!
4. SDCC is past, so what's up with Avatar figures... Avatar news was supposed to be revealed at SDCC. There are several unreleased figures that have made their way onto eBay. Will any of those be released any way into retail? On the web store? What about finishing the rest of the main characters?
Answer: Sorry, at this time there are no future plans for more Avatar figures.
5. Didn't see any DC Super Friends at SDCC, so... is there any movement for this line of figures? Anything new this next year? No cancellations on the horizon? Any info would be great.
Answer: Rumor has it that Matty is working on something for his website. Maybe for mid 2009...
