December 14, 2004 -- Englewood, CO Continuing to expand programming content for its growing Asian American audience, International Channel has signed licensing agreements with Mirovision for nine Korean films and Central Park Media for seven anime titles. Both the films and anime will air during "Asia Street," International Channel's primetime block of programming that is scheduled specifically for a young, English-speaking, Asian American audience. The programs will also be part of the channel's On Demand package.
"The Mirovision deal is very important for us, as it will allow International Channel Networks to capitalize on the growing popularity of Korean cinema and be one of the few outlets in the US to feature Korean movies," said Steve Smith, Managing Director, International Channel Networks. "In addition, anime continues to be one of the top genres on International Channel, and the new titles from Central Park Media will greatly expand our product offering in this category."
The agreement with Mirovision gives International Channel nine Korean films: "Byul" (2003), "The Show" (2003), "The Hidden Princess" (2002), "Family" (2002), "Siren" (2000), "Love Bakery" (2000), "Secret Tears" (2000), "The Spy" (1999) and "Ghost in Love" (1999).
