Who would have thought Snape would turn out to be Luke Skywalker's father.

DUDE! Use the spoiler tags next time! Puzzled

Seriously, though, I actually don't care for Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, but I love The Dark Knight Rises. It's right up there with the best Elseworlds "End of Batman" stories, IMHO. =)

Some major spoilers...

I don't think that the plot was too convoluted; I absolutely love Hathaway's Catwoman (and that she and Bruce ultimately get a happy ending together); I'm really glad that we're never told or shown the details of either Ra's Al Ghul or Two-Faces' deaths and that Batman's anti-guns and anti-killing stances are on full display (and that Blake shares those beliefs); I'm glad that Gordon was legitimately useful in this film; the Scarecrow's small role was a cool surprise; and Talia's reveal and her and Banes' origins were really well-done.

My only complaints: the big error in the stock market chase scene (anybody else catch it?); and the fact that Bane didn't immediately kill Lucias, who he very likely knew could deactivate the bomb, after securing the bomb; and that Blake's real name is "Robin" and not "McGinnis."

For starters I've had a crazy mad crush on Anne Hathaway for a long time. I think she's incredibly talented and ridiculously beautiful. To that end she did an amazing job and story wise made the ending all the more satisfying.

I didn't catch an error. What'd I miss?

I'm sure he didn't kill Lucias in order to leave hope, seeing as Talia had already programed the main reactor to initiate the failsafes if anyone started trying fiddle with it. That's the short version of my answer Smile

And I liked the small Robin nod there, a lot. Clearly he's not going to become Robin, he's going to become Batman. Bruce isn't coming back, he physically, mentally and emotionally can't and that's one of the points of Nolan's Batman movies, the tole and sacrafice it takes to be Batman in reality is just too much.

I'm going to have to see it again to make sure, but IIRC during the bike chase scene, it suddenly switches from day to night. The scene begins in broad daylight, with the stock exchange open (so it's before 4 pm), but then just minutes later, when Batman's chasing Bane and his henchmen and the cops are chasing Batman, it's pitch black outside. :b

I gotta be honest, I've loved the previous Nolan bat films,.But this was kind of a letdown to me as part of the trilogy. Too many storylines crammed into one movie, the performances were ok but not great. I'd take Heath Ledger's Joker and Aaron Eckhart's Two Face any day over Hathaway's Catwoman or Hardy's Bane. I did enjoy the scenes with Bane though, I like how he just wanted to hurt and scare, and he had that sarcastic quality to him on top of the brawny genius leader. I like Joseph Gordon Levitt as an actor, I enjoyed his scenes with Gary Oldman, but the ending was ridiculous. I would have rather them stay truer to the comics storyline I think is my main problem with this movie. Christian Bale was terrible as Batman/Bruce Wayne in this movie.

When the lady told Blake that she liked his real name better, and referred it as Robin. Are you kidding me, you might as well have just named the character Tim Drake. That was beyond stupid to me. Do they want people to think of him as Robin, if thats the case why did the ending make it seem like he was the next Batman. Or how about Bruce coming back from a broken back within months in a prison hole with practically no real medical attention is a little to hard to believe to me, considering they want this to be a real world batman.

Look its a very enjoyable movie to see it just didn't feel like a superhero type movie to me. They are just my opinions of course. I hope everyone goes out to see and gain an opinion of the movie for yourselfs so we can discuss it further. Also on a quick side note its was very tragic and sad what happened Thursday night. I refuse to let some moronic people in this world scare me or keep me from going to the theatre to see my favorite genre of movies. I love comic book movies, Marvel or DC. I enjoy talking and sharing opinions with fellow fanboys, and for what happend in Colorado was just terrible. Be safe out there everyone.
