It's been 4 months and collectively hours on the phone with these guys, first trying to return a defective purchase, then trying to get them to send me a replacement or refund my card. Neither has happened, though I've been repeatedly assured actions have been taken that have not. I can't tell if these guys are dishonest or grossly incompetent but, either way, avoid, avoid, avoid.

Bump. Another week, no resolution.
Bump.
A dozen more phone calls with assurances action is being taken. They even submitted shipping info for a refund check to USPS to generate a tracking number two weeks ago. However, USPS tracking reports only the electronic shipping info was received. No physical check was actually received by USPS to send to me.
Do not under any circumstances deal with these guys. Shameless, dishonest, and incompetent.
Finally received a refund check, which despite referencing the correct invoice number, was made out for <75% of the charge to my credit card. Unbelievable.
Complaint filed with the BBB, for what it's worth:
Tell us about your problem:
I preordered an item from 1upcollectibles.com on 4/28/12; company's invoice number was AB-1247. The item came into stock in June and my credit card was charged the purchase price of $40.90 on 6/27/12. I received the item shortly thereafter but it was defective; a part was broken off upon receipt. I contacted 1upcollectibles.com for a refund or exchange. I was told they needed the item back to determine if the defect was due to shipping or manufacture. It took me 1.5 months of multiple phone conversations, voice-mails, e-mails, and website contact form submissions before 1upcollectibles finally e-mailed me a return label on 8/10/12. In this e-mail I was nonsensically addressed as "Robert" and offered an exchange as well as a discount in recognition of my time wasted. I returned the item immediately (early August) and heard nothing back for months about either an exchange or refund. I resumed trying to contact them, with dozens of voice-mails never returned. Those occasions when the phone was actually answered during their normal business hours were my only chances to interface. These phone conversations totaled a dozen or two over the course of several more months, during each of which I was assured action was being taken to credit me for a refund. This culminated in 1upcollectibles providing me a USPS tracking number for a refund check on 12/14/12. Even so, for over three weeks, attempts to track this check resulted in USPS stating only that "Electronic shipping info was received"; no physical check had been sent. Finally, 1/5/13, over 5 months after trying to initiate a refund and after yet another unreturned voice-mail complaining about the refund check not being sent, I finally received a check in the mail. The check referenced the correct invoice number, AB-1247, but instead of refunding me the purchase price of $40.90, 1upcollectibles arbitrarily made the check out for $30.00, less than 75% of the amount charged to my credit card. I don't know whether gross incompetence or outright fraud is involved here (when I've actually managed to reach an employee, they've been polite and pleasant), but I don't care at this point. I just want my money back and to not have to deal with this company ever again.
Desired outcome:
1upcollectibles.com sent me a check for $30 when the charge to my card for the defective merchandise I returned in good faith was in fact $40.90. 1upcollectibles owes me an additional refund of $10.90.
This is not directed at Bat necessarily, but STOP WASTING YOUR TIME WITH THE "Better Business Bureau".
They do nothing!
Unless you are a member, then they make sure you get tons of junk mail and spam, because they sell your name & address to every one they can.
They are a waste of time. They CAN NOT do anything, they have no power. Your time is better spent going online to chat rooms like this one and posting negative reviews. This will accomplish more that the BBB can.
Sorry to chime in so late, but why didn't you just do a chargeback on your Credit Card?
In retrospect I should have, but since I was dealing with a relatively small vendor, I was trying to return the product to them in good faith rather than reverse the charge through my CC. By the time I had gone back and forth with them regarding the return label and then the refund or exchange, I had run afoul of the ~3 month deadline on reversing the charge. I should say they've been quite pleasant over the phone (when they pick it up), always giving the impression we were a step away from resolution. I'm mostly annoyed at myself at this point, as the amount in question isn't that much. That said, I wanted to alert others to the boondoggle that is dealing with these guys.
