Why? I am just trying to figure out why guys accross many action figure forums are driving across their state stock piling a $20 figure with no chance at a dewback, vehicle, or playset. I can understand picking up a few regular stormtroopers, but why army build Sandtroopers.
I found 1 box at a local Target this morning, picking up the Luke and Maul just to get started. I left the Sandtrooper for someone else who may be pining for one. Eventually I will get one of each release, even the prequel figures, but will hope for a sale to get R2. R2 should have really come with C3PO or Yoda. Good Luck.
It's weird, right? On BBTS it's the only (or was a month ago) Wave 1 figure that was sold out. Just wait for a normal version. It's going to happen.
Yesterday, I found one of each on the pegs of Kmart. I bought Maul and Luke despite having a set of four "out for delivery" from BBTS. I did feel slightly guilty buying doubles so early and possibly keeping them out of another fan's hands. However, I don't regret the extra purchases.
That doesn't really answer your army building question but I like having Maul in two styles and the Sandtrooper looks great without his extra gear, despite the weathering and his hip ammo pouches not entirely accurate for a regular Stormtrooper. I agree, buying squads of Sandtroopers might be questionable. Two or three seems reasonable .
I wonder how well R2 will do at retail. I think Hasbro should have waited on his release.
I honestly can't remember. Is there ever more than 2 or 3 Sandtroopers on screen @ the same time in ANH?
What retail spots are these showing up at?
Target & TRU so far.
i'm pretty sure the regular storm trooper is hitting with wave 3. along w jedi luke... i think.
so yeah, i have no clue why anyone is army building the sandtroopers. i'm skipping them entirely.
