For those of you who don't already know about these...
First is a project to resurrect the old Skeleton Warriors line as a Glyos-compatible line. It's supposed to be 3 3/4" scale, but this puts Baron Dark at 5". This one's got less than 2 weeks left to go, I'm afraid.
Next we've got this project that's looking to create a line of retro-style 3 3/4" Cthulhu mythos figures. As a guy who grew up with the '70s and '80s lines they're emulating, I think it's pretty rad.
And third, there's this project for a line of highly articulated 3 3/4" figures that are designed to be customizable. Series 1 is Greek warriors and Gorgons and it's already met the base funding goal, so now it's just a question of how many stretch goals get unlocked.
Bobbi sent me a link yesterday to the Cthulhu figures and I must admit they are very intriguing. I'm not a huge fan of the recent 'Retro' movement to go with throwback articulation and sculpting, but this project still interests me. They are pretty close to their base goal, so I think it will go forward and they can work on stretch goals.
Bobbi has given in on the Greek line, so it will be a matter of what they end up making overall.
Thanks for the link on the Skeleton Warriors. Not my cup of tea, but nice to see.

Yeah, the greek stuff looks cool. It might mix well with that line the Four Horsemen showed off at ToyFair, and since it'd unlikely either would see a second wave (or maybe even a first) it's important for lines to have some synergy.
The retro stuff has always struck me as silly. "Old action figures kind of sucked, but I remember when that was the only option so that makes them good!" It's an odd reasoning.
.
I can't speak for everyone, but for myself there's never been any feeling that the figures I grew up with sucked.
I also expect that there are people of a variety of ages who just have an appreciation for the design aesthetic, just like there were and are people who really dig the figures based on the Bruce Timm cartoons, while other people might dismiss them as lacking in detail and/or articulation. I personally don't get the appeal of those Munny things or most of the rest of the urban vinyl movement, but apparently a lot of other people think they're the bee's knees.

Another one has started. This one's for a 7-inch figure of an angel (20" wingspan) with plenty of articulation. If they raise enough, they'll also make a big demon.
