4 inch and 6 inch. Done.
DC All-Stars is going bye-bye after this year.
Diamond Dallas Page has yet to ship to anyone that ordered him on Monday.
I'm not normally a Mattel nay-sayer....but WTF is going on over there?
PS...anyone want these? Loose and only displayed. This pisses me off. If I'm not getting a complete team, I don't want the line. I have everything that's been released in the 4 inch line minus the two Wal-Mart exclusive Kid Flash and Aqualad.
That's Robin, Miss Martian, Martian Manhunter, Captain Atom, Aqualad, Aqualad (tatoos activated), Superboy, Ra's Al Ghul, Cheshire, Amazo, Kid Flash, 2 pack Kid Flash, Flash, Batman, Aquaman, Black Canary, Icicle Jr., Sportsmaster, Stealth Robin, Stealth Aqualad, Stealth Robin, Speedy, and Vandal Savage.
I'll even throw in the SDCC Superboy and Hall of Justice.
Let me know and send a reasonable offer.
So...is it still silly fanboy overreaction when we say "they're killing the line"?
I know the giant paper mache head loves to make fun of that phrase but....DCU-Dead. DCU All-Stars-Dead but may be released as DCU Wave 21(the final wave). Young Justice 4 inch and 6 inch lines-Dead. And that one just boggles my mind....Young Justice is still on the air and more popular than its ever been,if Matty cant make that line work something is SERIOUSLY wrong. So all we have to look fwd to in the way of DCU toys are the crap from The Dark Knight Rises, the crappy in-house generic Batman line, and whatever the hell they feel like throwing into the sub. Not good Matty....
My son is heavily into the YJ cartoon and action figures. Me, not so much. As the son of a toy geek, he inherited my love of action figures (and most of my collection!). And he loves the YJ figures. But I wouldn't buy them were they just for me. Incompatible scale. Some costume tweaks that I don't care for. But the biggest kicker is the price. $9.99 or nearabouts, most places. I suspect the price had as much to do as anything for its demise - I can imagine parents balking at it.
It was price that prevented me from buying this line (and so many other lines, really). I bought the larger Artemis and the smaller Black Canary on sale, but that's it. I may get more if they clearance them. I would really like a Miss Martian.
Like I said, send an offer my way. I don't want them anymore.
Besides, been re-collecting the hell out of my old Lord of the Rings figures, and have been solely focused on those. I missed them, and never knew why I sold them in the first place.
Of course it's going away...I just decided to start collecting because of the leaked photos(Captain Marvel, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze etc.). So far I've only bought Vandal Savage, Black Canary and Kid Flash. Now do I go on and finish what's out there or return them and walk away? Decisions, decisions...
Sorry to hear this for you YJ fans. Honestly, I never saw the appeal of these limited, static type figures.
And I didn't buy DDP nor I plan to, as I think the decision to make DDP as "Classic" was wrong..so many more deserve it before DDP.
And that one just boggles my mind....Young Justice is still on the air and more popular than its ever been,if Matty cant make that line work something is SERIOUSLY wrong.
Not so sure there'll me a cartoon after this. Cartoon Network cancels stuff on a whim and without a toy line I'm not so sure if they'll keep a show around that isn't living up to its merchendise potential. We'll see how long it lasts.

I really hope the cartoon doesn't get cancelled - it's probably my favorite animated series based on a comic ever - but if it does, at least we still got one solid season. =)
So the figures shown at Toyfair are just going to be prototpes never to be made, i was looking forward to the Gaurdian figure being made

Does this mean no 6" Kid Flash...? Because I wanted that Kid Flash...
Cartoon Network has not renewed the series for a second season so that's it for the show and probably it for the line unless Mattel does something through their website.
CN stretches these seasons out for so long (because of hiatus, etc.), are we sure there isn't going to be a pickup in the future? I agree, great show, crappy scheduling (do they even show reruns all that often?), crappy static smaller figures and crappily-priced bigger figures.
But one thing the show does (besides reference/homage some great comic stories... I can't believe they did the Flash racing across the nation to deliver a heart and meeting Vandal Savage bit from post-Crisis Flash) is make it easy to sell toys. They work in the snow gear and stealth gear and what have you, and I swear they had Kid Flash riding a motorcycle for absolutely no reason a few episodes ago.

Thought I should mention that there are overseas sellers who have him loose

Stores like BBTS still have 6" Batman/Kid Flash for pre-order:

AFI just recently previewed a new 4-figure wave in packages with Superman, Green Lantern, Robin and Artemis. They seem to think despite this cancellation news, this wave will still come out.

I actually saw Target put out a new tag for Young Justice vehicles about a month ago for about $15. It might have actually said motorcycles. At least I remember seeing the tag made me think about those old Justice League cycles they made way back when. After about a week though, they covered up or removed the tag. Which makes me wonder now if the cancellation of that product might have coincided with Target declining to order any more Young Justice at all. But so far I haven't seen any Targets make any motions to removing tags for Young Justice 4" or 6" figures and one of them restocked 6" within the past couple weeks, I think after that vehicle tag was removed.
Gee, you think folks didn't want to pay $10 for a Happy Meal quality toy with the main reason for the price tag (the Hall of Justice piece) hidden completely from view? First time I've really seen the packaging being a major reason for a line dying, but I think that is a BIG part of it. Without prominently displaying the big plastic piece that is the main reason for the big price tag, did anyone really think these barely articualted things would sell for 10 bucks?
Mattel needs to stop making DC toys from the early 90's and join the new millennium. They've failed more than once with this approach, and, as usual, continue to use it and fail again. 4" figures don't have to be immovable junk; just ask Hasbro...
Here's the 6" Batman boxed sample:

To be fair they're done to $8.49 at Target this year.
The 4" really didn't sell that bad around here from what I could tell. Not like the stores ordered or restocked a lot, but there aren't a huge amount of pegwarmers around. Captain Atom is the worst pegwarmer. Black Canary and Vandal Savage are kind of bad. The rest of the main character heroes seem to be selling pretty well.
The 6" though have been bigger dogs, especially 6" Aqualad. That's one of the worst pegwarmers of last year around here. Even Robin doesn't sell as well as every other version of the character has and I'm sure we have to blame that on the price tag. To be fair though, 6" Red Arrow, Superboy and Sportsmaster are not pegwarming and have sold decently, although haven't shipped a whole lot. Aesthethically, I really don't think the animated style worked well with the highly articulated 6" bodies, reducing collector interest while parents were turned off by the price.
I'd pay 10 dollars for them if they included a small hamburger and a baggie of fries. There are plenty of cool happy meal toys out there btw. Changeables are awesome.
Jones - I wonder if the prices haven't gone up in your area yet?
The prices, starting this week, have gone up $1 on every 4" scale figure line and $2-3 on the 6" scale figures at Target here in MD.
YJ 4" are now $10.99
YJ 6" are now $22.xx (can't remember the exact change, don't think it was 99 though)
Batman Legacy are getting close to $19 each
GI Joe are even $10.99
frustrating
Here is the 6" boxed Kid Flash gallery from AFI also:

I haven't seen the price hikes on the Young Justice yet. I saw it on G.I. Joe and Batman Legacy singles. I figured they hiked those because they know they're going to be on clearance in another month or two and that way they won't end up being discounted quite as heavily. Which could be a bad sign for Young Justice if they're hiking those. I think Target is already done reordering G.I. Joe. One store that sold out here covered up the G.I. Joe tags with Halo stuff, which they've been doing with items all year that sell out and are obviously not going to be in the next plan-o-gram. Batman Legacy 2-packs have been getting the tag-covering treatment this past month, even while they went through their own bizarre price adventure of going up to $39 or so and then getting a "price cut" to $31.99.
Kid Flash would be the only one I was going buy. The base will work well with any speedster and with the goggles on, he fits in better with DCUC than the other kid Flash. That Batman is tempting too, they finally did the cape draped on the shoulders! Wish they had done that on the Arkham City Bats, but a head and gloves swap should work.
do you still have these? And if you do, what would you want?
