Diamond Select Toys Teams with Kevin Smith on New View Askew Merchandise

August 2014 - With his library of cult-favorite films and regular geek-centric podcasts released through his company SModCo, director and author Kevin Smith is geek royalty, holding court each year in the legendary Hall H at Comic-Con International in San Diego. At this past weekend's Comic-Con, Diamond Select Toys unveiled a number of new products based on Smith's creations, in two new product categories!

At their booth on the show floor, DST displayed several new items from the View Askew universe, including:
- a plush doll of Buddy Christ, the religious icon who appears in many of Smith's films;
- a Mooby ceramic mug, depicting the famous Golden Calf and fast-food mascot;

Diamond Select Announces View Askew Minimates Line and Comic-Con Exclusive!

June 2013 - When a new Minimates toy line is born, it's a special time for everybody. So Diamond Select Toys is going to give birth at the most special time of all! A new line of Minimates is debuting at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, and it's from the cinematic world of Kevin Smith!

The first exclusive two-pack includes Jay and Silent Bob in black-and-white, just as they appeared in Smith's groundbreaking debut film, Clerks. Future sets will be in black and white as well as full-color, and will be based on all of the View Askew universe films: Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Clerks 2 and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back! Each Minimate mini-figure stands approximately 2 inches tall, with interchangeable parts and accessories.

Norwalk, CT, October 22, 2012: Show organizers for the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) have today announced that noted filmmaker, comic book writer and internet radio personality, Kevin Smith, will be a Spotlight Guest at the annual Midwest pop culture extravaganza. This news about Mr. Smith, a popular celebrity who regularly attracts huge audiences to his performances and appearances, is the first in a long line of significant guest announcements that show officials will be making in the coming months. Organizers anticipate that this year's C2E2, which will take place April 26 - 28, 2013 at Chicago's McCormick Place Convention Center, will be by far the biggest and most anticipated event since the show was launched in 2010.
