The Iron Man line was a midseason surprise from Toy Biz. No
Iron Man figures were shown at Toy Fair, but the figures did make it
to retail shelves in early Fall 1995 in time to capitalize on the new
Iron Man animated series. This first series was ambitious to say the
least. In 1995, most Toy Biz figures were still shipping in assortments
of 6 or 7. The Iron Man line made good use of each of those slots. In
this first assortment, there were 3 armored figures (two Iron Man variants
and War Machine), three villains, and a female figure.
