A legendary series for one notable reason. It is the only assortment of X-Men to be released without a Wolverine variant...EVER. Some might argue that next assortment's Robot Wolverine/Albert isn't actually a Wolverine, but since the card numbers him as such, I still count it. It is a Wolverine in spirit if nothing else. This series seemed to be produced in greater numbers than any previous series (though I am relying on my own observations rather than any hard data). Perhaps Toy Biz wanted to cash in on the popularity of recent assortments with this, its Christmas release for 1993. However, the figures seemed to hang around in stores for several years after the original release. This trend would continue for most of the figures of the next two series.
